Meet Jamey: Dedicated Dog Trainer and Canine Behavior Expert at Lucky Dog K9 Academy

Jamey's journey into the world of canine training and behavior started in her childhood. Her passion for dogs was ignited early on, leading her to join her local 4-H Dog Club by middle school, where she solidified her love for training. This early exposure to structured dog training programs shaped her future, planting the seeds for a lifelong career.

As an adult, Jamey's rich tapestry of experiences—from her collegiate studies to a variety of job roles and participation in an extensive Leadership and Emotional Intelligence Program—further honed her skills and understanding of both human and canine behavior. These experiences culminated in her decision to become a professional dog trainer in 2018, a role that has allowed her to merge her passion with her career effectively.

Since embarking on her professional path, Jamey has committed herself to continuous education and specialization in the field of dog behavior, particularly focusing on Anxiety and Littermate Syndrome. Her qualifications are extensive and include becoming a Certified Canine Sport Detection Trainer Level 1, an AKC Approved Evaluator, and obtaining certification in Pet CPR and First Aid. These credentials not only highlight her dedication but also her competence in ensuring both the safety and well-being of the dogs she trains.

Outside of her professional life, Jamey is deeply involved in the canine sports community. Along with her husband and daughters, she actively participates in a range of dog sports, enriching her practical experience and bonding with her own dogs—a Dutch Shepherd, two Pomskys, and a Morkie. These activities not only fuel her passion but also deepen her understanding of the diverse capabilities and needs of different dog breeds.
