Meet Joe: A Lifelong Animal Lover and Dedicated Dog Trainer
From the moment he adopted his first dog, Biscuit—a loyal companion who rarely left his side—Joe knew he had a deep and enduring passion for animals. This early bond sparked a love for dogs that has influenced every chapter of his life.
Growing up, Joe turned his passion into practical experience by working part-time in a pet store during high school. This job not only allowed him to surround himself with animals but also ignited his interest in learning more about animal care across all species. His commitment to animal welfare continued through his college years at the Columbus College of Art and Design. While pursuing his degree, Joe worked part-time in various pet-related roles, from pet stores to pet daycare facilities, expanding his knowledge and hands-on skills with each opportunity.
After graduating in 2009, Joe returned to his hometown of Canton, where he initially found it challenging to find his place in the art world. However, his lifelong affinity for animals guided him back to the pet care field. Joe spent some time working in retail pet stores before making a significant career shift in 2020 when he began training dogs professionally. Then in 2023 he partnered with Jamey and Branden to create Lucky Dog K9 Academy.
Outside of his professional life, Joe cherishes time spent with his family—his wife, daughter, and their dogs. Whether playing frisbee in the park with Rue or getting involved in the local community by working in haunted houses during the Halloween season, Joe's life is full of passion and creativity.
At Lucky Dog K9 Academy, Joe brings his lifelong love of animals and his extensive experience to help your pets become their best selves. Whether you're looking to train a new puppy or refine an older dog's manners, Joe is here to support your journey with expert guidance and genuine care.
